Apheresis VigilanceHere arises the Haemapheresis Vigilance System of the Section 'Preparative and Therapeutic Haemapheresis' of the German Society for Transfusion Medicine and Immunohaematology (DGTI e.V.). It is developed by the Working Group Haemapheresis Vigilance (AGHV) of the Section in cooperation with Aix Scientifics®. In December 2011 the test phase will be completed and the pilot phase (beta version) will start. After March 2012 at least all members of the DGTI are invited to acquire their Adverse Events occuring during preparative aphereses within the scope of a five-years clinical trial. All complications (e. g. venous access and circulation problems, citrate toxicity, and technical complications) shall be assessed with respect to preparative plasmapheresis, platelet apheresis, leukapheresis (blood stem cells, granulocytes, monocytes), red cell apheresis and multicomponent apheresis from healthy donors. The haemapheresis centres can automatically evaluate their data according the standards of the European/International Haemovigilance Network and can compare their results with the results of the total of all other participating centres.
